Vodice

Vodice are a tourist center, known for its liveliness, diversity of tourist offer and friendly hosts. They are located on the coast, in a wide bay, 11 km northwest of Šibenik. They were first mentioned in 1402, although under the name Arausa they still exist in Roman times, while in the hinterland of Vodice there are the first settlements dating back to prehistoric times. The history of the place is told by the Ćorić tower, preserved among the defensive walls from the time of the Turkish conquests, the church of St.Cross from 1421., and the baroque parish church of St. Cross from 1746. As one of Croatia's most famous tourist centers, Vodice today has 10,000 inhabitants and is an ideal place for vacation where everyone will find something for themselves. In addition to accommodation in hotels, camps, apartments and a marina, Vodice offers numerous restaurants and taverns, night clubs and discos, sports and recreational facilities, including all water sports, cultural and artistic programs, and boat or bus trips, as they are located nearby to Krka and Kornati National Parks, and Vrana Lake Nature Park. If you just want to relax, there are long concrete, pebble and rocky beaches, and a long promenade by the sea.
