Pirovac is mentioned for the first time in year 1298 under the name Zlosela. In that time it belonged to dukes of Šubić, and later it becomes the property of Šibenik bishop and aristocrats. The settlement Pirovac arised in 15th century by immigration of refugees in front of invasion of Turks.
