Skradin is one of the oldest towns in Croatia. On that area Ilirs used to have their settlement, and after them Romans founded the settlement called Scardona, because of very important strategic position. During history Skradin was under Turks, Venetian French and Austrian.Hungarian administration. It lost its importance when French built the road that led through Šibenik.
