Basic information
River Krka is a karst phenomenon, that, on its way towards the sea, made various lakes, waterfalls and fast currents. Its well is situated below the mountain Dinara, near the town Knin. The most impressive and the most visited waterfalls are Skradinski buk and Roški slap. Roški slap is really accessible and can be visited during the entire year. On the left coast of the river are situated numerous old watermills, some of which are still working. South of Roški slap waterfalls river transforms itself into a lake, called Visovačko jezero. In the middle of the lake is situated an islet with a church and a franciscan monastery.
River Krka sinks into the sea in Skradin. The river is rich in various spieces of fish, ten of which are endemic. The number of bird species puts this National park among one of the most valuable ornithologic areas of Europe.
It is best to begin the excursion in the information centre in Skradin, from where tourists can get all the interesting information and observe the gallery in which are presented all interesting things about National park.
It is also possible to go through National park by river, roads and hiking lanes. The excursion by boat includes the visit to Visovac, driving inside the canyon, sightseeing of Roški slap, monastery of St Arhanđel and Trošenj fort.
What to visit
Skradinski buk – the longest and the most beautiful waterfall on river Krka and one of the most famous natural beauties of Croatia – it is possible to see it walking through lanes and bridges

Roman military camp Burnum – situated in todays village called Ivoševci – built in the 1st century AD – preserved arches that belonged to the command building and amphitheater
The cave – ancient site – on a top of the canyon above Roški slap – found numerous traces of human existance
Fort Ključica - the biggest and the most preserved medieval fort on the area of the National park

Directions
National park Krka is open for visitors the whole year long.
Enterance to the national park is possible by boat from Skradin or by bus from Lozovac.
The price of the ticket is from 25 to 80 KN, and for children (7-14 years) from 15 to 65 KN.
